Former Florida prison guard gets 6 life sentences for raping, choking children

A former Florida corrections officer will now spend the remainder of his life behind bars after a decide handed down a number of life sentences following his conviction for sexually abusing and strangling two younger children.

James Touchton, 40, had beforehand labored for the Florida Department of Corrections at Lowell Correctional Institution in Marion County, although he lived in Inverness.

Prendergast stated Touchton remained in custody from the time of his arrest in 2019 till his trial this week.

On Thursday, a jury discovered Touchton responsible of six counts of capital sexual battery on a toddler beneath 12, and two counts of home battery by strangulation.

Touchton was then sentenced to 6 consecutive life sentences for capital sexual battery, together with two consecutive five-year sentences for home battery.

The sheriff applauded the jury’s determination, saying justice had been served.

“Touchton will spend the remainder of his life in prison and can by no means be capable to abuse one other baby.
