Why a disabled woman is suing the CTICC for R1.5 million


Makgosi Letimile is suing the CTICC.

A disabled woman has taken the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) to the Labour Court for unfair discrimination. 

Makgosi Letimile, 37, who is wheelchair-bound, is suing the CTICC for R1.5 million. She alleges that she endured ache, struggling and psychological trauma whereas working at the CTICC.

Letimile instituted courtroom proceedings towards the CTICC, alleging that she was discriminated towards on the grounds of her incapacity, race and gender.
